Help Write The 7th Ward Alderman Candidates Survey

City Hall3As a follow up to the offer to help candidates for 7th Ward Alderman understand campaign finance laws and election rules (Interested In Running For 7th Ward Alderman?), I am also interested in your help writing the 7th Ward Independent Democrat’s 7th Ward Alderman Candidates Survey.

Please submit questions here or by email to

Our survey will ask personal side questions and issue questions. Candidates will turn in the survey responses prior to the January 16th Candidates Forum. We will draw from the questions at the Forum and then post all the answers after the Forum.

Candidate filing for Mayor, Comptroller, and Aldermen of off numbered wards begins 8 am Monday, November 28th, 2016 and closes 5 pm Friday, January 6th, 2017.

Tell us what you’d like to know from the candidates. These should be questions for all Democratic Primary alderman candidates, not candidate specific questions.

Here are the questions and answers from the 7th Ward Alderman Candidates Survey in 2015.

7th Ward Independent Democrats Endorse Tishaura Jones for Mayor

treasurer-tishaura-jones_2_4The 2017 Mayor’s race is the most important local candidate election of our lifetime and we are moved to act now and wait no longer. The City of St. Louis needs leadership keen on solving problems instead of making excuses. We need a mayor who is not a part of the Rex Sinquefield wing of the Democratic Party. We want a mayor who has not made a career out of giving away corporate welfare. We must, absolutely must, have a mayor who brings transparency to local government.

7th Ward Independent Democrats endorse Tishaura Jones for Mayor.

More information regarding our endorsement after Tuesday’s election.
