Tuesday- Vote Rasheen Aldridge, 78th Dist State Rep

RasheencityhallphotoTuesday is the big day.

Elect Rasheen Aldridge to the Missouri House.

Reminder for Soulard Voters. You now vote at Lift for Life Academy @ 1811 S. Broadway.

Polls will be open 6 am to 7 pm Tuesday, November 5th for the Special Election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of State Rep, Bruce Franks Jr.

If you did not receive an Election Notice Card from Board of Election, check your Voter Registration at the Missouri Secretary of State’s voter database.

If you need to locate your polling place, enter your address here.

If you have any election day problems or questions contact the Board of Election at 314-622-4336.

In all, there are six Missouri House seats across the state with Special Elections Tuesday.  There are also local candidate and ballot issue elections across Missouri on Tuesday, but not in St. Louis City.

Sample ballot @ Board of Election here.

As you can see, there is only one name on the ballot. At the August 22nd Deadline to file for the Special Election for 78th District, the only candidate to file was 5th Ward Democratic Committeeman Rasheen Aldridge.

The Republican, Green, Libertarian, and Constitution Parties could have submitted a nominee, but did not.

No one submitted petition signatures to get on the ballot as a Nonpartisan/ Independent candidate. Less than 200 signatures were needed.

Aldridge defeated 7th Ward Committeeman Marty Murray Jr. for the Democratic Party nomination.  Last year, Aldridge defeated Murray in his re-election bid for chairmanship of the 78th District Democratic Party Committee.

At the October 25th Deadline to file as a Write-In Candidate for the Special Election, no one had filed with the Missouri Secretary of State. 9th Ward Republican Committeeman Mark H. Comfort had filed a campaign committee with Missouri Ethics Commission. But he did not file paperwork with Secretary of State to actually be counted as a Write in Candidate. Write-In votes do not count unless the candidate has filed as a Write-In candidate with the Secretary of State.

In the 7th Ward, Voters in Precincts 4, 5, and 6 (voting at Central Library in Downtown, St. Vincent’s Hall in LaSalle Park, and Lift for Life Academy in Soulard) are in 78th District. Voters in 7th Ward, Precincts 1, 2, 3 (voting at Sigel School in McKinley Heights) are in 79th District represented by State Rep. LaKeySha Bosley.

Voters in the following Wards & Precincts are encouraged to vote for Rasheen Aldridge on Tuesday.
