It turns out the City used the wrong address for the hearing notice sign on S 11th and the notice in City Journal.

It was not an Appeal of Permit Denial for appealFitness Center/Gym at 2001 S 11th @ Allen owned by Packer Investments. See structure photo. Yes. Those are windows and doors painted on the boards.

The correct address for the wannabe gym is 2000 S 11th. Same issue applies- not enough street parking to support another business. At the south end of the block- 11th & Russell- is a hair salon. One block east- Menard & Allen- is Duke’s bar. One block west- 12th & Allen- is Pizzeoli’s Pizza and Nadine’s.

hearingThe hearing was not held. The applicant asked for a continuance.

The City Journal is published by the City Register, the City’s version of a County Clerk. Unlike most counties in Missouri, here it is an appointed position. The new Mayor recently appointed a new Register.

The City does not do transparency very well. Meeting information is hard to track down because there is no central repository/online calendar. In this instance, the information once found was not even correct.

APPEAL #10976: Appeal filed by Maximus Holdings LLC from the determination of the Building Commissioner in the denial of a building permit authorizing the Appellant to construct a multifamily building with parking, per plans at 1400 Russell Blvd.

They were permitted 4/25/2017 to construct Foundation Only, which has been going on; plumbing permit issued 7/12/2017; and electrical and mechanical permits issued 7/14/2017.
