August 27th Drinking Liberally Happy Hour will have the same speaker set for the now cancelled meeting: St. Louis Not For Sale, the initiative petition drive effort for a public vote on Rex Sinquefield’s airport privatization scam.
We will obtain a copy of the petition to scan, post online, and share before August 7th Election. There will be petition signature gatherers at polling places. Having a chance to read/study the petition in advance is in everyone’s best interest.
Those of you who were coming to the now cancelled Happy Hour are encouraged to attend The Big Trash Meeting.

Format: We will go around the tables and each introduce ourselves and ask our guest speakers an international, national, or state question relating to Congress. Both speakers will answer same question. Please prepare questions in advance.
Guest Speakers for April 23rd include:
1st U.S. House District Candidate Cori Bush – If you are not familiar with Cori, here is an interview with St. Louis Public Radio: Cori Bush and Percy Green discuss 2 generations of St. Louis civil rights protests The 1st House District includes all of St. Louis City and most of North St. Louis County.
2nd U.S. House District Candidate Mark Osmack – The Riverfront Times ran a very interesting piece on Mark: Mark Osmack Is Running for Congress, and You Should Take Him Seriously . The 2nd U.S. House District includes parts of St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County. Mark spoke at our March Happy Hour but the room was under 25 (lots of RSVP cancellations because of weather and flu), so we are inviting him back.

We’re again collecting food for Lafayette Park United Methodist Church’s Brown Bag Meals Program for our unhoused neighbors. Items being collected- individual serving packages of crackers & tuna, crackers & peanut butter, fruit cups, fruit drinks, raisins, applesauce, cookies.
