Friday’s Deadline has come and gone for November 5th Special Election Write-In Candidates to file with Missouri Secretary of State.

Congratulations to Rasheen Aldridge, officially unopposed on the ballot or by write-in candidate, the only candidate without an opponent in the November 5th Special Election, the next 78th District State Representative.
At the August 22nd Deadline for political parties and Nonpartisan/Independent candidates to file for 78th District’s Special Election, the only candidate to file was 5th Ward Democratic Committeeman Rasheen Aldridge. Less than 200 signatures were needed.
Aldridge defeated 7th Ward Committeeman Marty Murray Jr. for the nomination. Last year, Aldridge defeated Murray in his re-election bid for chairmanship of the 78th District Democratic Party Committee.
