Tuesday Development Agency “Town Hall”

6:30-8 pm Tuesday, August 14
St. Louis Development Corporation
“Open Forum Town Hall Meeting”
RSVP Janet Harris, harrisjan@stlouis-mo.gov
LaunchCode Mentor Center, 4811 Delmar City
Public Transit: #97 Delmar

City Online Calendar Notice provides no details on what this event is about. From the notice looks more like an event LaunchCode is hosting than the City’s main development agency.

If you go hunting for information, you’ll eventually find this press release by the agency.

The flyer is found on the agency’s Facebook page which does not have it posted as an event so it can be shared.

The agency recently hired a communications expert at $80,000-$90,000 salary.

Corporate Welfare: The Mad Rush To Approve Tax Abatement & Bonds Before New Mayor

yTkejEGTE3 pm Tuesday, November 13th
Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority
1520 Market, City Hall West, Room 2000

Agenda: There’s a lot of big projects being rushed through the system and more on the way.

In Not A Big Project Agenda Items, in Bohemian Hill, 1725 S Tucker & 1716 S 13th are being sold by LCRA to Allied Property Group LLC for renovation.

Way down the Agenda you’ll see that LCRA is about to hire Spencer Fane, the law firm that fought the City’s minimum wage increase, to do some legal work. It’s also the law firm that hired 7th Ward Alderman Jack Coatar after he voted against raising the minimum wage.

Filed under “Transparency Fail” – Neither the Enhanced Enterprise Zone Commission nor Planned Industrial Expansion Authority  have, as of 9 pm Tonight/Monday, posted agendas online for their Tuesday meetings.

Board President Lewis Reed filed a board bill  for online posting of meeting notices, a poorly written one in my opinion, but hasn’t bothered to have a hearing on it.

Making government more transparent should be an issue in the upcoming mayoral race.

Tuesday LCRA: Blighting for 115-Unit Apartment Development in Soulard

Pierre Laclede StatueLand Clearance for Redevelopment Authority
3 pm Tuesday, May 24th
1520 Market #2000 (City Hall West)

Agenda

#4 on Agenda is blighting designation for 721 Victor & 2403-15 S 7TH Area. This is the 5-story, 115 Unit, 89 onsite parking spaces redevelopment project in Soulard

There is way too little onsite parking planned for this project. At least 1/3 of the units will have more than one car. Current residents of the area already share street parking with South Broadway Athletic Club at 2301 S 7th (used on Saturdays for the popular Soulard 7th Street Antique and Vintage Market), D’s Place at 900 Barton, Good Luck Bar & Grill at 2501 S 9th, and Humboldt School at 2516 S 9th.

Sorry for the late notice on this. I found the LCRA agenda by accident. You cannot get to it via City’s online Calendar. The agenda link was bad as of 10 pm Tonight (Monday, May 23).

This happens a lot with public meeting notices and agendas.
