Tuesday & Wednesday Bus Service Reduction Meetings

busvintageThere are 27 bus routes serving St. Louis City. Bi-State Development Agency (d.b.a Metro) proposes to Eliminate 5 of 27 bus routes; Eliminate specific streets served for 13 of 27 bus routes; makes no route changes to 6 of 27 bus routes; and makes minor changes to 2 of 27 bus routes. One route- City Limits- I still haven’t figured out.

In Soulard, we’re losing #8 and #20. No more bus service for Allen Market senior citizens. No more bus service for Vincent’s Market and Fields Foods. I don’t count #10 Gravois as an option because Gravois @ Russell and Gravois @ 13th are very dangerous to cross, particularly after dark and even worse when it rains/snow. Lots of people who work here get here by bus.

No more bus service through Shaw and down Russell. No more bus service on Cherokee or in Holly Hills or on The Hill. No more bus service for Crown Candy. No more bus service in a lot of places. That’s the current proposal.

Make your voice heard. Contact Bi-State/Metro, Mayor, Board President, and your Alderman.
